First Time Users
Welcome to Vision Quest Builder's Association! This section is provided to help you understand our site and how to get the most out of it. The primary purpose of this site is to provide information and encouragement to anyone who is building, or interested in building their own project. We have information on the site, which we are continuously adding to, and we have extensive links to other information sources, materials sources, service providers, and products. More and more builders individual sites and Blogs are being added as we continue to build this organization and site. You may also be interested in our Discussion Forum, which is an excellent opportunity for builders to share information. If you want to sign up simply click the link above and it will take you there. This site is extensive, with many different components and levels already, and will always be underconstruction as it continues to grow and evolve over time. At a glance, there are four main featured categories as you see above : "Airplanes", " Boats", "Cars & Bikes" and "Other". If you click on any of those photos it will take you to that page. Once on the page you will have some opening information followed by four additional categories which are; Selection - this link takes you to a section that has some information that helps you during the project selection phase and may have references to additional information sources for you to get more information from. Note: that in each section they are titled to reflect that particular section i.e. " Boat Selection" or "Airplane Selection" etc., as are the other categories, yet they all follow the same basic form and function for ease of navigation. Projects - this is a link that will take you to pages containing some photos of other builders projects during the building phase. In some cases it may only be one or two pages of content and photos provided on our site. If the builder has his or her own site and has provided a link it will be available near the top of the page labeled "Builder's Site". By clicking on that link it will take you to the builders personal site. This provides a wealth of information, photos and explanations and links to even other sites and sources of information. Once you are finished and ready to return, simply hit the back button until you are back on our site. Some sites will have a return link button to our site and those that do make it even easier for you. Finished - this link takes you to pages containing photos and content on builders projects that are finished, and same as the Projects section, contains a link near the top of the page to the "Builder's Site" if they have provided one. In some cases their personal site may include construction photos as well as completed photos, others may have only started their site after the project was completed and may or may not have content showing the building phase. There will be some overlap between Projects and Finished for that reason. Vendors & Suppliers - these are links to suppliers that are of special interest and use for the specific category.... but they may also be of use for other things as well. We try to least them in each category that they have a major benefit in belonging too, but it certainly doesn't hurt to scan through the other categories and see what's there as well. You just might find some information or sources that you could use in another way. In this section we include links to other groups and organizations that all combined have a massive amount of useful information. We also added a button at the top of the page called "Projects" which provides you another way to access the pages we just described. Next to that is a "Blog" button. By selecting it you will be taken to our blog where we post news and updates on various things that we are working on or other events, and information on many other topics. This is updated every few days with various information. To the right of that you will find our "Link Directory" . This provides easy access to many sources of information and multiple categories, and we are always adding to it. Its very easy to scan down, find something interesting and simply click on the provided link. Information, Information and more Information .... all to help you get the maximum benefit and enjoyment out of all your projects! Some of the things you will find easily available are books of interest, web sites, blogs, other web related tools and services and various merchandise as well as external links to other sources. By the way, if you don't already have a website or a Blog, our store is the place to get one, and there are several very cost effective options to choose from that will give you a quality site or Blog. Classified Ads are a way to help both the buyer and seller. Many builders have materials, parts, books, tools and many other things that they no longer need or want, but would be very much appreciated by another builder who happens to be looking for that very thing! Our classified ads provide an easy cost effective means of putting both buyer and seller in touch with each other and at the same time the very modest fees we charge for ads ($1.00 to $12.00 depending on the ad and length of time purchased for). |
